Auditioning for Camerata / Concert Orchestra

While 90% of incoming freshman are appropriately placed in Orchestra I, some students may want to audition their way into a higher level group. Auditions will be held at the end of the school year and at the end of summer. Upcoming dates TBD.

Please be prepared to:

1) Play a variety of two octave scales. These may include C, D and G major, as well as D and G melodic minor scales.

2) Play a short melodic excerpt from any solo literature you are working on.

3) Play one of the two excerpts from the following PDF’s. Violin Viola Cello Bass

4) Be prepared to sightread a small piece of music.
